Burnside Leisure Park - Nearby Attractions

There's a lot to see and do on your stay at Burnside, including Scarborough with its magnificent castle on its immense headland dividing two golden, safe and sandy bays and the old town with its busy harbour.

You are ideally situated to explore the wealth of history in the area. Visit Yorkshires heritage coast with its picturesque scenery, including Robin Hoods Bay and Goathland (‘Heartbeat Country). Burniston Rocks is well known for its prehistoric legacy and Dinosaurs footprints are clearly visible along the shore.

Burniston village was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Brinnistun, which derived from the name of a farmer named Bryning who owned the lands and Tun which means farm or settlement.
