Goosewood Park - Sutton on Forest - York -  Local Area

Nearby Vale of York stretches for miles and miles and can really be appreciated by visiting Hambleton Hills where you’ll find the White Horse carved in chalk, it also has a pleasant walk to a wonderful viewing spot. Since the countryside is not particularly steep it is the perfect place to really enjoy a day’s cycling and walking. Or simply relax in the many charming villages and market towns which are nearby. Make time to visit Castle Howard, of TV’s Brideshead Revisited fame, and Eden Camp for an evocative insight into civilian life during the Second World War. And from Pickering, you can board the North York Moors Steam Railway for a trip across the ‘Heartbeat’ moorlands to Whitby.

Sutton Park - Sutton-on-Forest

Close to the park lies the pretty village of Sutton, with two pubs which serve traditional meals, Sutton Park and its beautiful gardens, and 10 minutes away is the Waterworld leisure pool. There is a designer retail outlet close by and also a golf course and driving range.
