Action packed holidays in Yorkshire – grab front row seats to the Tour de Yorkshire 2016

The 2017 Tour de Yorkshire will come past our Yorkshire Holiday Parks

Looking for holidays in Yorkshire with some two wheeled action? Then be a part of the Tour de Yorkshire 2016 with a stay at one of our Yorkshire holiday parks.

The route for the 2016 tour was announced in December and it will see some of the world’s top cyclists compete over three stages, covering more than 320 miles.

The event was launched after Yorkshire hosted the Tour de France Grand Depart in 2014. Sir Bradley Wiggins, who won the Tour De France in 2014, was among those who joined the first tour.

Stage 1, which gets underway on Friday 29th April, sees cyclists ride from Beverley in East Yorkshire to Settle in North Yorkshire – a distance of 184km. The journey will take them across the width of Yorkshire, taking riders through places such as Market Weighton, Grassington, Tadcaster and Knaresborough. Guests staying at our Yorkshire holiday parks at Goosewood and Riverside won’t be too far from the action, as riders pass to the south of our sites near York and Ripon.

The final 198km stage 3, sees cyclists take in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside as they ride from Middlesbrough to the popular resort of Scarborough. Here bikers will ride through some breathtaking scenery, travelling through places such as Grosmont, Robin Hood’s Bay, Hutton-le-Hole and Whitby.
