The 2017 Willerby Portland oozes class and sophistication thanks to its stunning, open-plan interior, home-from-home fixtures, fittings and appliances, and large rooms which allow everyone to have their own space while holidaying together. The lounge has sliding patio doors which open delightfully on to an L-shaped decking and allow copious amounts of natural light in to the lodge, this is further amplified by the large bay window. There is a comfy sofa (which folds out in to an occasional bed), two arm chairs and a footstool, set around the large electric ‘stove’ fire with feature surround which makes for a gorgeous focal point and an ideal place for family photos on the mantelpiece. The TV unit is ideally positioned and has room your DVD player and other electronics plus extra storage and there is an in-built MP3 system to the lodge. It is a great space for relaxing on an evening as a family.
The kitchen is striking and notable as soon as you walk in the door. Almost U-shaped, with shaker-style units and wood effect worktops, there is lots of space for the family chef to work their magic! For added convenience integrated appliances include; a microwave, under-counter fridge and freezer plus a dishwasher too. There is also a cloakroom/utility cupboard with space for a free-standing washing machine. There is a large, double width, larder cupboard with integrated storage accessories and wicker draws, adding to the cottage feel of the kitchen and the double cavity gas oven/grill and hob is paired with a stylish stainless steel splashback.
Eating arrangements are flexible, with a breakfast bar from the kitchen side accompanied by two stools for casual or extra dining space. Alternatively, the free-standing table – which sits just behind the lounge area – has two, high-backed, upholstered seats and a high-backed, upholstered bench enabling plenty of space for the whole family to eat together. It also makes a great space for entertaining friends. The Welsh dresser is in keeping with the colour scheme and style and has a handy wine rack in it too.
In the main bedroom, the set-up is slightly different to other holiday homes. The king-size bed, with stylish upholstered headboard runs down the side wall of the lodge rather than the back wall. This gives the bedroom an extended feeling of width and space, even with the en-suite shower room off the main bedroom. There is ample space for your clothes thanks to the full height wardrobes, and bedside cabinets (with table top lamps) plus the king-size bed also lifts up for handy under-bed storage if you need. If you are getting ready to go out for a meal or for a drink in the bar, the dressing table has an upholstered stool and wall mounted mirror.
In the en-suite there is a shower enclosure with thermostatic shower, under-floor heating, porcelain sanitaryware with a wash basin that is mounted on a vanity unit, dual flush WC and an extractor fan. The en-suite really helps you to have extra privacy and keeps queues for the main bathroom to a minimum.
Meanwhile, in the twin room, the set-up of the bedroom again means that the extra width makes the twin room feel incredibly large compared with other holiday homes. The two twin beds have upholstered headboards along the side wall, a mirrored dressing area with upholstered stool and a walk-in wardrobe with hanging rails and drawers. Both bedrooms have a wall mounted TV point but there is no bracket included.
The family shower room has a bath with overhead shower and splash screen plus a quad shower enclosure with thermostatic shower. Again it has under-floor heating, and a wash basin which is mounted on a modern vanity unit. The WC is dual flush and the vanity mirror is wall mounted. It also has an extractor fan to keep condensation to a minimum.
