Tour de France Yorkshire

There’s still time to book yourself a front-row seat to the Tour de Yorkshire… by staying at one of our Yorkshire holiday parks!

For cycling fans, the Tour de Yorkshire is the chance to get up close and personal with some of the world’s top riders, including the likes of 2014 Tour de France winner Sir Bradley Wiggins. The 2016 Tour de Yorkshire gets underway on April 29th in the pretty town of Beverley and the three-stage event will see dozens of top riders covering the length and breadth of the county.

And what’s the best way to see all the action on two wheels? By staying at one of our Yorkshire holiday parks, of course, which are just a stone’s throw from the route.

The first 184km stage, from Beverley to Settle, will take riders through Market Weighton, Grassington, Tadcaster and Knaresborough. A stay at one of our Yorkshire holiday parks at Goosewood and Riverside will allow guests to get close to the action, as riders pass to the south of our sites near York and Ripon.

The second stage, will see riders cycle from Otley, north of Leeds, south to Doncaster, passing through places such as Pontefract, Bawtry and Knottingley. The third stage, consisting of some 198km, will see cyclists cover vast areas of North Yorkshire as they ride from Middlesbrough to Scarborough, taking in the stunning scenery of Grosmont, Robin Hoods Bay, Hutton-le-Hole and Whitby. Visitors and owners to our parks at Flower of May, Burnside and The Haven will be close to all the action as the riders come by!

To help plan your stay, and to make sure you don’t miss out on the action, check out the Tour de Yorkshire’s full race timings which were recently released.

We’ve also put together a handy travel information guide, as some routes around Yorkshire will be closed from April 29th to May 1st.
