Explore the narrow streets and alleyways that wind through this picturesque coastal town towards the busy quayside. The picture postcard harbour is overlooked by the ruins of the ancient St Hilda’s Abbey high on Whitby’s East Cliff. Why not trek the 199 steps from the old town of Whitby that lead up to Parish Church of St Mary, the scene of which was inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous book, Dracula.
Just a short distance from Scarborough is the traditional English seaside resort of Filey. A holiday hotspot since the Victorian era, Filey offers golden sands and a fishing harbour village with quaint shops and cafes. Take in the beautiful views of Filey Bay or enjoy a coastal walk along the cliff top to Bempton Cliffs or Flamborough Head.
If your looking for fun seaside activities for the kids then look no further than a day out to Bridlington. The beachside promenade is packed with kids rides and amusements or you can show off your sand castle making skills on either of Bridlington’s two award winning beaches. Venture the path’s of pirates and smugglers! Robin Hood’s Bay is a maze of tiny streets and passageways surrounding an ancient fishing harbour. You'd need to call us for this query with the dimensions of your tent to hand (the berth of the tent isn't much help because all tents vary in size). At low season times we can sometimes accommodate larger tents, however in peak season it is unlikely to be able to be accommodated.
Camping - Is electric included?
Electric hook-ups are available on our camping pitches as well as non-electric pitches. You will need to put some credit on our electric cards to top up the meter as the electric isn't included in the price. You can top up the plastic card (issued at check-in) at reception with any amount you wish from £1 upwards and refund any remaining money to the card which we will refund in full pounds at check-out.
