North York Moors

The North York Moors National Park is a naturally beautiful landscape which encompasses moorland, coastline and woodland giving visitors a variety of wildlife and historical sites to see during their trip. Enjoy the dales, valley and headlands of the North York Moors just minutes from Upper Carr Caravan Park.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Take a trip back in time and board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The magnificent steam engines take in the beautiful landscapes and historic stations as it meanders from Pickering to Whitby through the North York Moors. If steam engines are your thing, then you may want to visit the Flower of May in Scarborough where the Scarborough Fair Museum exhibits some of the great steam engines.

Dalby Forest

If you prefer to get out and about on two wheels, Dalby Forest provides the perfect outdoor arena for you to explore and ride. Undulating contours means it’s a fantastic ride through the spectacular forest scenery. If musical concerts take your fancy, you can often see big names on stage in Dalby Forest.

Flamingo Land

A great day out for the whole family, and just a few miles away in Malton, Flamingo Land is one of Yorkshire’s theme parks provides an amazing day out with rides for everyone. Whether it’s rollercoasters for the adrenaline junkies or a tamer ride for others, there is something for everyone. Also on site is a zoo which gives you a close up experience with some animals you wouldn’t usually see in the UK.

Eden Camp

This multi-award winning modern history themed museum offers an insight into what a prisoner of war camp was like during World War Two. Developed as a tribute to all the people, civilian or military, who suffered hardship during the war, Eden Camp recreates sights, sounds, smells and the atmosphere of the time.

Duncombe Park Estates

If you fancy a stroll through on of Yorkshire’s foremost and historic estates, Duncombe Park is just a short distance from our park. Although opening the house to the public ended in 2011, the spectacular landscapes of the gardens and the International Centre for Birds of Prey give you a relaxed day out.
